Vancouver-based sommelier and wine critic DJ Kearney rates the 2014 vintage of Riesling 90 points!
“Yet another beauty from Tantalus, the 2014 tastes a little dryer than the previous vintage, with heady aromatics, luscious fruit and rapier sharp acidity. It’s in its infancy now, showing delicate petals, apple, peach and lemon flavours, and the distinct mineral twang amped up by brain-rinsing acidity. A mix of old and younger vine fruit is called to duty in the estate riesling, which absolutely crackles with intensity and verve. Young a bit tight now, but air it out well, or tuck a few bottles away for 2020. Tasted May 2015. (for you nerds out there: pH of this wine is 2.79, TA is 10 g/l and RS is 12g/l)”
