2023 Blanc de Blancs

Our vineyard site has long produced fine bubbly - hearkening back to the Pioneer Vineyard days with the Dulik family, with some of the original clonal selections chosen for their makeup to produce great sparkling wine. We are immensely proud to carry on this tradition and in doing so help further the evolution of quality, traditional method sparklings from the Okanagan Valley.

Brilliant deep yellow in the glass, it shows a fine bead and persistent mousse, immediately inviting with aromas of shortbread, lemon zest, candied walnuts, and a hint of oystershell freshness. Layers of warm Golden Delicious apple and delicate apple blossom add a subtle, fruity brightness.

On the palate, the wine is long, mineral-driven, and vibrant, with notes of citrus zest, tart Granny Smith apple, and beeswax. Classic toasty nuances of pastry and lemon tart, shaped by 22 months of lees aging, mingle with an intriguing pie-crust layer, making each sip irresistibly moreish. A whisper of dosage brings balance, highlighting the wine’s creamy texture and refined structure—an expression of both place and patience.

WINEMAKER'S NOTES

The fruit for our 2023 sparkling Chardonnay comes from a single block of vines planted in 2013. Grapes were harvested early to preserve bright acidity and moderate alcohol. After pressing, the pristine juice was fermented in seasoned puncheons and barriques using a Champagne-specific yeast culture.

The base wine then aged for six months on its fermentation lees in oak before being bottled for secondary fermentation en tirage. After 22 months of lees aging, the wine was disgorged in February 2026 with a small addition of dosage, enhancing its toasty, creamy character while showcasing the purity and precision of this sparkling release.
