Jancis Robinson MW names 2008 Old Vines Riesling top Canadian White Wine!

We are honoured to have two Tantalus wines score in the top three spots for Canadian White Wines as reviewed by Jancis Robinson, UK Master of Wine and leading international wine author and critic. Robinson gave the following reviews and scores to our Rieslings out of 30 Canadian white wines tasted from across Canada:

1. 2008 Old Vines Riesling 17 points
Mature Riesling aromas. Bone dry and all the better for it. Real nerve and steeliness to this wine. This would compare with a fine Alsace Riesling with some bottle age. Dense and extremely bracing. It would be fun finding the best food match for this wine. Something with a beurre blanc perhaps? I can imagine that before now the acidity was just a bit too much.

3. 2010 Riesling 16.5 points
Light but true lime zest aromas plus some suggestion of wet stones. Certainly not bone dry but brisk, clean, well balanced, with a suggestion of spritz and just the sort of thing you’d fall on on a summer’s day in Vancouver.
